Meet William

Dropped by at bestsellers to check out some magazines. Nothing much gave me an interest until my eyes caught sight of a YoCard standee. As a norm, I get to check out what’s in store. Saw a YoCard of PETA (Philippine Educational Theater Association) – they’re showing “William” this August, “Haring Lear” next year, and the successful “Care Divas” will also have a re-run. Looking forward to see “William” soon! Been a fan of Shakespeare since Hollywood started putting his modernized masterpieces in the big screen like “Romeo and Juliet” and of course, “Ten Things I Hate About You” starring the late Heath Ledger (who happens to be my lifetime crush).

 Set in a Metro Manila school, students get to know Shakespeare as they discover themselves and how his characters and stories are parallel to their own life situations.

“William” will be shown on August 14, 19-21, 26-28, September 2-4, 9-11, 16-18, 23-25, 2011 at 10am and 3pm. PETA Theater Center is located at No. 5 Eymard Drive, New Manila, Quezon City. Directed by Maribel Legarda who is also behind Care Divas and written by Ron Capinding.
