When you read The Other Side of Midnight by Sidney Sheldon, you’ll be up past midnight to finish this book. This book is very exciting especially in the last chapters. Sheldon lets you meet interesting characters from his intelligent mind.

The prologue is a very good one because it gets your curiosity right at it; it started in a courtroom in the present day. Noelle Page and Larry Douglas are on a trial for murder. Then as you continue reading, it will bring you to the past and one by one it will drive you back and forth between Noelle’s and Catherine’s lives, chronicling how they fell into the story, until it leads you to the trial.

Noelle was sold by her father, and when she couldn’t take it anymore, she ran away. Then she met Larry whom she deeply fell in love with, but he suddenly left her without any notice. Because of that, Noelle held a grudge upon him – she made use of her beauty to regain power, and secretly stalked Larry. Then she found out that Larry is married to Catherine (Catherine is deeply in love with Larry as well). As fate goes, Noelle found a way to see Larry again. Then struggles of Catherine were on track, for Noelle got Larry in her arms again, leaving Catherine. Too bad Noelle and Larry had to hide from people because Constantine Demiris (Noelle’s husband) was the most powerful man at that time. Constantine found out about his wife’s betrayal, and he has to put it to an end.

This book has one of the best revenge plots. Though it was published in 1970’s, it can still be enjoyed by people of today. But I don’t recommend this book to younger ages because there are some adult scenes. Sidney Sheldon’s books are filled with exciting characters and story lines. The reading style of his books is pretty easy to read, but not so simple that you will be bored.
